P-EBT First Benefits Issued
First Issuance of P-EBT
Posted on 03/10/2022
First Issuance of P-EBT The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has released the first benefit issuance of the Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) to eligible households. Benefits were added to the QUEST or P-EBT card of the household, based on days students were absent from school for a COVID-19 reasons and were also matched for free or reduced meal eligibility. Please review this handout from DHS if you have questions. Some parts of the program are the same:
- The program is for our students who are signed up for free or reduced price meals that we provide under the National School Lunch Program (or School Breakfast Program).
- Most benefits will be provided on families’ existing QUEST or P-EBT cards. If a family is getting benefits for the first time, a new card will be sent to them in the mail.
Some parts of the program are different:
- This year, the program will not only provide benefits for those days that students were learning from home, like last year, but also for days students were absent for a COVID-19 related reason.
- This year, our school district had to send in information for each student, based on their individual attendance and learning location during this school year.
- Each eligible student will receive an amount of benefits that is specific to their attendance and learning each month.
- Because many of our students are spending more time learning in person this year and getting their meals at school, families will probably see lower amounts of benefits.
If the number of days in your records doesn’t match up with the amount of benefits you got, then you should contact DHS’ P-EBT Support Team at [email protected] or 1-833-431-2224. If you have more questions, read this letter from DHS.
