On August 31, 2020, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced it will provide flexibility in the school meals program which allows the District to provide free meals to children in the Greater Green Bay Area. The flexibility will continue until December 31, 2020, or until the available funding runs out.
Starting September 1, the District is providing meals at all school locations (with the exception of Jefferson Head Start). Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be picked up at any meal site (with the exception of Leonardo da Vinci). One significant change is that the meal program will no longer be a drive-up service. Instead parents, guardians, and students are asked to enter the foyer of a school to pick up their meals. When picking up meals, face coverings are required.
